PURPOSE STATEMENT

I began my graduate training in clinical psychology to pursue my passion for understanding how to be with and accept the full range of human experience. As a queer and neurodivergent clinician, it is my intention to work with individuals and couples that have received the message that they need to mask their true selves in order to be accepted. My focus is on treating complex developmental and relational trauma, and I utilize a combination of analytic and postmodern theoretical modalities tailored to the unique needs of each client.

THERAPEUTIC & COACHING EXPERIENCE

Out Couch Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, PC, Pasadena, CA - AMFT 145151

As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist: AMFT145151, I received training in cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative, internal family systems, and psychodynamic and analytic modalities, all from a trauma-informed lens. I intend to use my training to work with queer and neurodivergent individuals, couples, and families who are looking to heal from complex developmental and relational trauma. My current supervisor is Cadyn Cathers, PsyD, MBA, PSY 32839.

Counseling West, Sherman Oaks, CA — LMFT Trainee

MARCH 2023 - APRIL 2024, 1 year commitment

As an intern at Counseling West, I have built a roster of nine clients that I see once a week for 50-minute sessions. All of my clients are adults between the ages of 24 and 37 who presented with developmental trauma and have required stabilization before engaging in depth psychology. I receive weekly supervision and training from local mental health professionals in the analytic and depth-psychology space, including training in Tevera and TherapyNotes.

Writing Coach, Remote — Self-employed

NOVEMBER 2019 - OCTOBER 2023

As a writing coach, I have helped high-school-aged teenagers translate their unique perspectives into compelling college application essays and supplements. For the past four years, I have had the privilege of spending weeks honing my clients’ writing skills. This work was invaluable in preparing me to see therapy clients. My ability to build rapport and trust with these adolescents was essential to crafting their essays. Getting to know who they are and who they want to be and helping them translate that into a competent, professional voice has been the most rewarding experience of my pre-therapy work.

Huggins Coaching, Remote — Life Coach

APRIL 2019 - AUGUST 2021

As a life coach focusing primarily on relational coaching, I led two remote women’s groups during the coronavirus pandemic; both focused on helping my clients move towards self-actualization through goal-oriented projects they created. Additionally, I facilitated three and six-month-long coaching containers with individuals and couples, building invaluable self-promotion and leadership skills. I decided to end my coaching practice and begin my graduate training because I kept encountering clients whom I knew could benefit from more specialized interventions and evidence-based models. My passion for supporting my clients to the best of my ability continually leads me to invest in my education and post-graduate training. I love that this is a career where I will always be learning new ways to serve my clients.
